Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 2, 2026
VoixWare, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our "SMS to Email Forwarder" mobile application (the "App") and related services (the "Service").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the processing of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information Usage
We process a minimal amount of information necessary to provide and operate our Service. We do not link this data to your personal identity (such as your name, physical address, or phone number).
Information You Provide to Us
When you configure or test the App, you may provide us with the following information:
- Your Email Address: We require your email address solely as the destination for the forwarded SMS messages. This is the core functionality of the App.
- Phone Number for Optional Setup Test SMS: If you choose to use the optional setup test SMS feature, you may enter your phone number so we can send a one-time setup test message. We use this phone number only to send the requested test SMS and do not store it in our own databases after the test request is processed.
Information Processed Automatically
When you use our Service, we automatically process the following technical data:
- Device Identifier (UUID): We generate and store a unique, anonymous identifier for your device. We use this
device_uuid to link your device to your email address and to track your usage against our free tier limits (e.g., daily message quotas).
- Push Notification Token: To send you technical notifications about usage limits and service updates, we store your device's push notification token.
- Analytics and Usage Data: We process information about how you interact with the App, including events such as app launches, feature usage, and user flows. This helps us improve the App and fix bugs.
- Technical Information: This may include your IP address (stored temporarily for debugging purposes), approximate geographic location (country/city), and other technical data necessary for service operation and security.
Subscription and Transaction Information
When you purchase a subscription, all payments are processed by Apple through their App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details. However, we do receive transaction-related information from Apple via our service partner, Qonversion, to manage your subscription. This includes:
- Subscription Status: Information about your current subscription plan (e.g., "Premium"), its status (active, expired), and expiration date.
- Transaction Identifiers: An anonymous transaction ID provided by Apple that confirms your purchase. This allows us to verify your subscription and provide access to paid features.
SMS Content vs. Service Metadata
When we say that we do not track, log, analyze, or store your SMS messages,
we mean the message body and message context: the text of the message, its
meaning, subject matter, and conversation content.
We do not read your SMS message body. We do not review, inspect, analyze,
profile, or use message body or message context for analytics, advertising,
marketing, product decisions, or any other secondary purpose.
SMS message body is relayed from your device to your destination email address
through our delivery gateway. It is processed transiently in real time only for
the purpose of sending the email. SMS message body is not written to our
databases, application logs, analytics systems, dashboards, or other persistent
storage at any stage of this delivery flow.
On paid plans, the SMS sender may be used to form the subject of the forwarded
email, so you can recognize and sort messages in your inbox. We do not store
the SMS sender in our own databases or analytics systems after the email is sent.
To operate the Service reliably, we process limited service metadata that does
not include SMS message body or message context. This may include setup events,
test-message events, forwarding success or failure events, delivery status,
usage-limit counters, subscription status, timestamps, app version, device
identifier, and technical error information.
We use this metadata only to provide and maintain the Service, enforce usage
limits, troubleshoot setup or delivery problems, improve reliability, prevent
abuse, and understand whether the Service is working as expected.
Information We DO NOT Collect or Store
We believe in data minimization and user privacy. Therefore, we want to be explicit about what we do not do:
- SMS Message Body and Context: We do not read, store, log, analyze, or retain the body or context of your SMS messages in our databases, application logs, analytics systems, dashboards, or other persistent storage. SMS message body passes through our system transiently in real-time memory only to deliver it to your email address and is discarded immediately after delivery. On paid plans, the SMS sender may be used to form the subject of the forwarded email so you can recognize and sort messages in your inbox, but we do not store the SMS sender in our own databases or analytics systems after the email is sent.
- Financial Information: We do not have access to your credit card number or other sensitive financial information. All payments are handled securely by Apple.
- Other Personal Data: We do not collect your name, contacts, precise location, or other personal data from your device beyond what is listed above. If you use the optional setup test SMS feature, we process the phone number you enter only to send that one requested test message and do not store it in our own databases.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information solely for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: To forward your SMS messages to the email address you provided.
- To Send Optional Setup Test SMS: If you request a setup test SMS, to send one test message to the phone number you entered so you can confirm that forwarding is configured correctly.
- To Manage Your Subscription: To verify your purchases, unlock premium features corresponding to your subscription plan, and manage the subscription lifecycle.
- To Enforce Usage Limits: To monitor the number of messages forwarded to ensure compliance with your current service plan.
- To Send Notifications: To notify you about approaching usage limits, service updates, and other important information.
- To Improve Our Service: To analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, optimize performance, and understand user engagement through analytics data.
- To Monitor Service Reliability: To understand whether setup, forwarding, delivery, usage limits, and subscription access are working as expected, using service metadata only and not SMS message body or message context.
- To Provide Proactive Support: To contact you at the email address associated with your account if service metadata suggests that setup, forwarding, delivery, billing, usage limits, or subscription access may not be working as expected.
- To Communicate With You: To respond to your support requests or to send important service-related notices.
- To Secure and Maintain Our Service: To monitor for and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity, and to maintain service reliability.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:
Third-Party Service Providers
To make the App work, we use third-party companies to facilitate our Service. The data pipeline for an SMS is as follows:
- The SMS is sent from your device to our backend infrastructure.
- Our backend infrastructure, hosted on Google Cloud Platform in the United States, processes the message in-memory.
- Our backend then relays the message to Mailgun (also hosted in the United States), which sends the final email to your inbox.
- Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) provided by Google.
- In-app purchase receipts from Apple are managed through Qonversion, which provides us with the status of your subscription entitlements.
- If you request an optional setup test SMS, we may send the phone number you entered and the fixed test message text to our SMS delivery provider, such as SignalWire, solely to deliver that requested test message.
These third parties have access to your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf. They are obligated by their own policies not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
4. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we store from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. All data transmission between the App, our backend, and third-party services is encrypted using industry-standard TLS (Transport Layer Security). However, please be aware that no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our systems or your information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information as follows:
- Email Address and Device Identifier: For as long as you use our Service or until you request deletion.
- Subscription and Transaction Data: Retained for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for financial record-keeping and to support the "Restore Purchase" functionality.
- Push Notification Tokens: For as long as you use our Service to ensure we can send you notifications.
- Analytics Data: We may retain aggregated, anonymized analytics data indefinitely for service improvement purposes.
- IP Addresses and Debug Logs: Stored temporarily (30-60 days) for debugging and security purposes, then automatically deleted.
- Phone Number for Optional Setup Test SMS: We do not store the phone number you enter for the optional setup test SMS in our own databases after the test request is processed. Our SMS delivery provider may retain delivery records according to its own legal, compliance, and operational requirements.
- SMS Message Body: As stated above, the body and context of your SMS messages are not retained on our servers.
We may also create backups of our data for disaster recovery purposes, which are retained according to our backup retention policies.
6. Your Data Rights and Choices
You have the right to request access to the information we store about you (your email address, device identifier, subscription status, and usage data). You also have the right to request the deletion of your information from our systems.
To exercise these rights, please contact us through our support portal. Upon receiving your request, we will delete your data from our active databases. Please note that requesting the deletion of your account will result in the immediate and irreversible loss of access to the Service, including any active subscription, without a right to a refund.
By continuing to use the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please contact us to delete your account and discontinue use of the Service.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is safe for users of all ages and does not contain any age-inappropriate content. However, for users under 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Union), please ensure
that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to this Privacy Policy before using our Service.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
